Enrol for Graduation

All the following directions reflect the official requirements set out by the University of L'Aquila for local students, which are available here.

  • To enrol for graduation at UAQ, you and your supervisor will need to complete several steps of a long workflow on Segreteria Virtuale following a specific timeline.
  • Before taking any of the steps below, please wait for the instructions you will be emailed by our staff
  • You will have to submit a signed cover page as well as a copy of your thesis both to our Consortium and to Segreteria Virtuale.
  • If you're NOT going to graduate in the session you're applying for, you'll have to cancel your request (the deadline is communicated via email by our staff).
  • You will have to have cleared all your exams 15 days before graduating.

Appointing a supervisor & Submitting thesis title

You have to appoint a supervisor and a co-advisor (if any), and then submit a thesis title for approval.

Case 1. Is your supervisor working at the University of L’Aquila? Then, enter their surname on Segreteria Virtuale. They will receive an automatic notification inviting them to log in and approve your thesis title.

Case 2. Is your supervisor NOT working at the University of L’Aquila? Then, they have no account on Segreteria Virtuale and they cannot log in to approve your graduation workflow. To solve this technical issue, please follow the instructions you will receive from our staff.

AlmaLaurea

Almalaurea is a university consortium offering job placement information and statistics. After registering, you'll get targeted notifications about PhD programmes, scholarships, job positions etc. This registration and the related questionnaire are compulsory for graduating from the University of L'Aquila.

You'll need to sign up for Almalaurea from within your Segreteria Virtuale profile.

Then, follow the steps below.

Cover page

You have to provide an official joint cover/front page that must be signed by your supervisor and you.

By signing the thesis cover, your supervisor confirms that you're ready to graduate.

You can now generate your cover page, get it signed and then save it till you have the final version of your thesis.

Save it till your thesis is ready for submission

Graduation Enrolment

Before you can take the next step (graduation enrolment), you have to wait until this specific stage opens (the timeline is shared via email by our staff).

A new button called "Procedi con il conseguimento titolo" will appear, as shown below. If you can't see it, it means you still have to wait a bit.

Payment of the "Marca da bollo" (16-EUR stamp)

This will only become available once you've completed the previous step. You'll be able to pay online for the required 16-EUR stamp (marca da bollo) through a special service called "PagoPa", which allows paying by credit card, too.

If the payment is successful, you'll get a receipt and you'll see a green light on the related page.

If you selected to receive a degree parchment, you'll find the related amount added to the standard required fee above.

Thesis Submission

Before you can take the final step, you have to wait until this specific stage opens (the timeline is shared via email by our staff).
When it's made available, a new button called "Procedi con il processo di completamento tesi" will prompt. If you can't see it, it means you still have to wait a bit.

Don't forget to enclose a signed cover page

1. First, submit a soft copy of your signed cover page & final thesis to our Consortium.

As we don't have access to your profile on Segreteria Virtuale, there is no way we can't retrieve a copy of your thesis from there. Just so you know, this is only meant to be kept in the records of the Consortium you belong to (MathMods, InterMaths, RealMaths), and never to be published anywhere.

2. Then, complete the submission on Segreteria Virtuale, too.
